My name is Linda Roman Kalnins and I’m the founder of Colour Stick.
Surrounded by design for most of my life, selling contemporary European design in my Double Bay store, working as Accessories Manager at Space Furniture and more recently, Tom Dixon Brand Manager at Dedece, I stumbled into the window furnishings industry by chance. After discovering the choice of curtain hardware was quite limited and without much colour or personality, the idea formed and Colour Stick came into being.
Based in Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast and accompanied by Tommy the rescue greyhound, I supply designers and the window furnishing industry, delivering Australia wide.
Colour Stick is a fusion of traditional European curtain hardware with a contemporary Australian twist - timber curtain rods and accessories made since the 1950's are customised locally in any colour.
Rods made from the best quality African timber - strong, light weight, resistant to warping and light in colour - are paired with finials and accessories made from birch grown in the forests surrounding the small European village where they are produced. All timbers are certified by PEFC.
Once imported to Australia, Colour Stick creates a bespoke product to order. Each piece is sprayed by hand using a European paint system that can be mixed to any colour, producing a beautiful yet robust finish.
The 51mm rods are available whole with rings and timber brackets, or rebated with quality KS tracks from Forest Group in the Netherlands - white as standard or custom painted also available. The rods are available in either smooth or reeded profiles and there are numerous finials, matching timber tie backs and flick sticks.
